February 26: ASWJ, ST activists shot dead in Karachi
An activist of the Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was murdered in Karachi. ASWJ staged a protest against his killing outside the Supreme Court’s Karachi registry building. Thirty-five-year-old Mohammed Imran was attacked by two men on a motorcycle while he was on his way to his air-conditioning repair shop. In a separate incident, a Sunni Tehreek was killed in the Urdu Bazaar area. Forty-five-year-old Mohammad Majid was shopping with his wife when two men on a motorcycle shot him. February 28: Shia man shot dead in Karachi
A young man associated with the Shia Ulema Council was shot dead sprayed with bullets on his doorstep in Incholi in a suspected sectarian attack. Two men on a motorcycle stopped outside the residence of 21-year-old Danish Hussain, and called him out posing as his friends. March 2: Five fall prey to sectarian attacks in Karachi
Three friends — Ali Hussain, Ali Ejaz and Hashim Hussain — were riding a motorcycle in Orangi Town’s when they were intercepted by four armed men on two motorcycles. The attackers opened fire at the three, killing them.
Within an hour of the killings, a 30-year-old ASWJ activist was shot dead in a suspected sectarian attack at his milk shop in Shah Faisal Colony.
In another incident, armed men targeted another young man in an apparent sectarian attack in North Karachi. Gunmen riding a motorbike opened fire at 28-year-old Ali Daad, who was a member of the Shia community. Dawn
March 3: 45 killed in Shia neighbourhood blast

At least 45 people, many women and children among them, were killed and over 135 injured in a massive bombing in the Shia-dominated neighbourhood of Abbas Town. The explosion took place at the time of Maghrib prayers between two apartment blocks at the entrance to Abbas Town. A police official initially said the bomb blast had taken place not far from an Imambargah. Two apartment blocks suffered the most damage; some flats were reduced to rubble.
There were reports that several residents died inside their apartments because of the sheer impact of the blast and injuries caused by shrapnel. According to initial estimates, 40 to 50 apartments were destroyed and over 10 shops flattened. Dawn
