January 11: Three members of polio team held hostage in Layyah
Three members of a polio team were held hostage when they tried to administer polio drops to the children of a family in Karor Lal Essan. A police team reached the spot, recovered members of the polio team and arrested the accused. Dawn

An Ahmadi was killed in Chenab Nagar (Rabwa), the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya. Two motorcyclists intercepted Bilal Ahmed and shot him thrice. Express Tribune
January 13: Blast near polio center in Quetta
At least 14 people were killed and over 10 injured in an explosion near a polio centre in Quetta’s Satellite Town. Seven to eight kilogramme of explosives were used in the blast shattering glass windows of nearby buildings. Dawn
