January 27: School worker shot dead in Karachi

A school worker was shot dead at point blank range by motorcycle-bound gunmen in an apparent target killing. Officials at the school where he worked denied receiving any threats, while police officials also ruled out sectarian motives. Express Tribune

January 30: Explosion at Shikarpur Imambargah kills 61

At least 60 people were left dead when a large bomb explosion ripped through an Imambargah in Shikarpur during Friday prayers. According to sources, up to 400 people were worshipping at the mosque when the blast struck. A Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) splinter group took responsibility for the attack, which led to protests across the country.  Dawn

February 1: Three ASWJ workers killed in Karachi

Two young men belonging to the banned sectarian group ASWJ were shot dead on the main National Highway. The victims were riding on a motorcycle when two gunmen attacked them. In an separate incident, an ASWJ worker in Orangi was shot dead after he was targeted at his shop. The attack also left his son injured. Dawn

February 1: Schoolteacher gunned down in Awaran, Quetta

A schoolteacher was shot dead by armed men in Awaran District. The government school teacher was targeted near a deserted part of Alangi village. The attackers managed to flee after the incident. Daily Times
