July 23: Senior Lawyer killed in Karachi sectarian attack

A senior lawyer was gunned down in a sectarian attack in Karachi’s Gulshan-i-Iqbal area. Syed Mubarak Raza Kazmi, 60, was attacked by four gunmen riding two motorcycles. The deceased was the son-in-law of prominent Shia scholar Allama Talib Johari.  A patrolling police party chased the attackers afterwards but they managed to escape.

July 25: Four Ahmadis booked for ‘preaching their faith’ in Badin

The Tando Bago police registered a criminal case against four men belonging to the Ahmadi community for allegedly preaching their faith. Mohammad Ramazan Rustmani, a local cleric, who is also an office-bearer of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl), lodged an FIR against the four men — Abbas Gurgez, Idrees Gurgez , Mushtaque Ahmed Gurgez and Mohammad Khan Gurgez. July 26: Three gunned down in Karachi sectarian attacks

Three people, among them a prayer leader and a muezzin, were killed in separate sectarian attacks across the city. Motorcycle riding gunmen opened fire at a camp set up outside Masjid-i-Madinatul Uloom to collect Fitra and charity, killing three people present there. Dawn
