A Hindu temple in a small Sindhi town has been preserved and taken care of by a local Muslim family for the past five generations. The Chandio family from Johi – a small town in Sindh – has been living in the temple ever since it was handed over to an ancestor by a local Hindu.
Despite the town’s Hindus having immigrated, and various zealots having attempted attacks at the building, the family has remained committed to its responsibility. They have stated a desire to preserve what “is sacred to some people”. However, they have now appealed to the authorities to take over formal control of the temple so that they can take better care of it. Express Tribune
