June 9: Two brothers killed in Karachi sectarian attack

Two young brothers were killed in a sectarian attack in Nazimabad. Mohammed Bashir, 35, and Mohammed Nazir, 28, were riding a motorcycle when armed motorcyclists opened fire on them, leaving both dead. Dawn

June 12: ASWJ activist killed in Quetta

An activist of the outlawed Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was killed and two others injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on an assembled crowd during a strike in the city. The ASWJ had called the strike in protest against the government’s failure to arrest those involved in the killing of yet another ASWJ leader in Mach town a few days earlier. Dawn

June 14: Three more killed in Karachi sectarian attacks 

At least three people, including a seminary student, were killed and one critically wounded in two separate sectarian attacks across Karachi.

In the first incident, a 46-year-old decorator and his young employee were both shot dead outside their shop. Both the victims belonged to the Shia community. A few hours later, two young students of Jamia Binoria were targeted as they came out of their institute after offering Maghrib prayers. June 14: Christian MPA gunned down by own guard in Quetta

A Christian member of the Balochistan Assembly was gunned down by his own security guard in Quetta. National Party’s Hendry Masih was reportedly shot twice in the neck and chest, while his nephew was also injured in the attack.

The deadly incident reportedly occurred after a heated exchange between the perpetrator, Mohiuddin Baloch and Masih’s nephew. The late parliamentarian was attempting to quell the argument when his guard opened fire. Express Tribune
