Two men, including a doctor, were gunned down in separate incidents of sectarian target killings. The first victim, Dr Amir Mehdi, 56, was at his clinic when two assailants riding on a motorcycle opened fire on him before speeding away. A  spokesperson for the Majlis-i-Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) confirmed that the victim was Shia and was targeted for his faith.

Earlier, 40-year-old Abbas Haider Zaidi was travelling in a car when ambushed by four gunmen on motorcycles. Police investigating his death said that the attack was sectarian in nature. Dawn
