January 6: School bombed in Bannu
Unidentified persons blew up a Government Girls Primary School in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province by planting explosives at the site. However, no casualty was reported as a result. Militants in the region have been consistently attacking girls’ schools in the region as part of their opposition to education for females. The News
January 6: Suicide bomber kills one in Hangu
Pakistanis hailed a teenager as a hero after he prevented a suicide bomber from attacking a government school. 17 year old Aitazaz Hassan was killed when the bomber blew himself up after he had wrestled him to the ground. The planned attack was believed to be sectarian in nature. Daily Times
January 7: Six killed over Shrine visit
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan slaughtered six men at a shrine in Gulshan-e-Maymar on the outskirts of Karachi. They left a note at the crime scene warning that those who visit shrines would meet a similar fate. The victims were aged between 20 and 50 years, and belonged to various ethnicities. The Nation
January 8: Schoolteacher injured in Sectarian attack
A school teacher who was also the Imam at a local imambargah was left injured after he was assaulted by two unidentified attackers in Dhoke Kashmirian, Rawalpindi. People present at the incident rushed him to the Hospital where he was stated to be in a stable condition. Express Tribune
January 10: Two workers killed in Sufi shrine attack
Unidentified gunmen shot dead two workers at a small Sufi Muslim shrine near Peshawar. The bodies of the men were found at the shrine of Ghazi Shah Baba in the northwestern city of Mardan in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Dawn
