July 8: Two mosques attacked in Panjgur

Gunmen opened fire at two mosques in Panjgur district. According to Levies officials, the motorcycle-bound attackers showed up outside the mosques and started shooting indiscriminately. Although worshippers offering Taraweeh prayers were present during the attack, no casualties were reported. Dawn

July 9: Shopkeeper killed in sectarian attack 

A shopkeeper’s murder in a sectarian attack in Karachi triggered widespread protests across the city. The victim, 40-year-old Asif Ali, was on his way home when armed motorcyclists intercepted his car near the Empress Market and shot him dead. The victim was a prominent Shia activist and his death led to the suspension of traffic and commercial activities in the city’s busiest areas. Dawn

July 9: Blast damages school in Mattani

A government primary school was damaged in a bomb blast in Mohalla Tokar Khel, Peshawar. According to the police, militants had planted a home-made bomb in the school which destroyed parts of the building when it went off. Express Tribune

July 10: Prayer leader gunned down in Bajaur

Unidentified persons shot dead a prayer leader in Dag Qala area of Bajaur Agency. Maulana Qari Ziaur Rahman was offering Taraweeh in the house of a local tribesman when unidentified armed men entered the house opened fire on him. The cleric received critical injuries in the attack and died before he could be shifted to a nearby hospital. The residents of the area and members of village defence committees reached the spot soon after the incident but the attackers managed to escape.
