November 17: Three injured in grenade explosion in school
At least three students were injured when a hand grenade exploded in a classroom of a Government High school in Bannu. Police said that a student had kept hand grenades inside his school bag, and one of these exploded while kept there. The blast led to the school declaring an emergency and evacuating all students and personnel. It was not immediately clear why the student was carrying the explosives with him. Express Tribune
November 18: School bus attacked in Kurram Agency
An 11-year-old boy died in a bomb attack on a school bus in Upper Kurram Agency which also killed the driver. The bus was attacked by a roadside explosive device in the Nisti Kot area, which has been beset by militancy for a long while. Militant groups in the region have often attacked educational institutions, although the motivation for this particular incident was not clear as no group claimed responsibility. Express Tribune
November 19: Policeman guarding imambargah killed in Peshawar
A police constable, Rashid Ali Shah, was shot dead in Wadpaga village near Peshawar while he was guarding an imambargah. Security for worship places had been intensified across Pakistan for the month of Moharram, and the attack was the latest in a series of incidents. Militants had recently attacked a senior Shia police officer in the city, leaving him critically wounded. The News
November 21: Hindu temple torched in Hyderabad
A small temple of the Hindu deity Hanuman in Tando Mohammad Khan town was torched on Friday, sparking protests by the local Hindu community and nationalist parties. Various local leaders termed the arson attack as a conspiracy designed to trigger communal riots in the area. They vowed to foil such attempts by exercising restraint, but urged the federal and provincial governments to bring the instigators to justice. Sindh’s traditional Hindu community has long considerable persecution of late, with forced conversions of young Hindu women also an ongoing concern. Dawn
