This report is the second in a series of three Monitoring Briefs (2016) designed to monitor and track the actions and public statements of five key regional actors (India, Iran, Russia, China and Saudi Arabia) on Pakistan; their participation in relevant international and regional discussion meetings, including the Istanbul Process, Heart of Asia, RECCA and SCO; key regional economic decisions and agreements, including, but not limited to, the energy and infrastructure sectors, which have implications for the identified sources of tension in Pakistan and the region. This Jinnah-Institute-produced research brief is part of the “Sources of Tensions in Afghanistan and Pakistan” (STAP-RP) project with CIDOB (Barcelona Center for International Affairs).
